What this site is

howtofishgames.com is an unofficial, fan-made guide site for the Steam game How to Fish. It is not affiliated with the developer or publisher.

Analytics

We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic: page views, approximate country, device type, and referrer. This measurement is privacy-oriented and does not use advertising cookies for cross-site tracking.

Hosting logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process standard request logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) for security and delivery purposes.

Optional account sign-in

You can browse every guide without an account. If you choose to sign in with Google, GitHub, or X, we store that provider's account identifier and the profile name and picture it makes available. We store an email only when the provider supplies one that is verified; X sign-in does not require or provide an email in this flow. We keep account records in Cloudflare KV and use a secure, HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax cookie to keep you signed in for up to 30 days. Logging out ends the current session but does not delete the account record. Accounts from different providers remain separate even when their email addresses match.

We use account information only to provide sign-in. We do not use it for advertising or sell it. To request deletion of an account record, contact us through the contact page. When you sign in, the selected provider handles the authentication under its own privacy policy.

Cookies and third-party advertising

Sign-in is optional, and we do not require newsletter sign-ups or payments. We do not sell personal information.

If advertising is added in the future (for example via Google AdSense), third-party vendors — including Google — may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings and via aboutads.info/choices. If ads go live, this page and our ads.txt file will be updated accordingly.
