How to Fish: Giant Piranha Location & How to Catch
Giant Piranha is the Forest / Island 2 boss in How to Fish by Dazed Games. Start at the lakeside quest giver, collect three leeches, then use her Modified Leech bait. Catching it starts a fight; the skeleton hand-in completes the progression step.
Where is Giant Piranha?
Go to the lake on the second main island, commonly called Forest. The woman near the settlement starts the leech request. This is a quest-triggered encounter, not a fish you should expect from repeated casts with an ordinary lure.
How to get the bait and catch it
- Talk to the woman and check the leech counter.
- Find three leeches on the grassy ground. They are pickups, not rod catches.
- Return to her for Modified Leech, also called Leech Bait in community tables.
- Equip the reward bait and cast into the lake. Reel the boss to shore, with room to move once combat begins.
What equipment do you need?
The quest bait is the trigger. Bring a rod, a ranged weapon and ammunition. A shotgun is one player-tested option, not a compulsory unlock item: Steam players also report pistol-based wins. Upgrade within your budget and keep a clear path around the fight.
How to beat it
Keep moving as you shoot. Clear the small piranhas when they block your route, then return fire to the boss. Players report eating defeated small piranhas to recover health. Treat roof tricks and terrain traps as version-dependent tactics, not a guaranteed solution.

Boss dead, but Island 3 still locked?
Pick up the Giant Piranha Skeleton and give it to the quest recipient. Merely holding it while talking may not deliver it: the Steam troubleshooting thread recommends the give/throw action (default Q). Keep the quest item until the hand-in registers; ordinary meat is not a replacement.
