Needlefish: what bait and what quest?
Needlefish is an ordinary catch with a progression use: Steam players report it satisfies the swimmer's endangered-fish request.
Bait
Use Standard Lure, as listed in the community fish table. Do not confuse it with Standard Boss Lure. The table gives no guaranteed number of casts.
Keep it for the swimmer
Inspect the held fish with F and check the endangered description before giving it away. Complete the swimmer conversation for the Pufferfish bait step.
Needlefish or Bowlfish?
Both are reported quest options. If you already have a Bowlfish, check whether the NPC accepts it before searching for this specific species.
