How to Fish: radar colors and lost radar help
Lost your radar on the Giant Piranha island? Players report a replacement beside the shop signpost. Lost it at sea or on a mini island? Reloading may return you to an island, but it does not reliably restore the radar. These are different situations.
Radar colors and markers
| Marker | Confirmed meaning or change |
|---|---|
| Orange item dots | Weapons, according to patch 1.0.11. |
| Turquoise dots | Dead players, according to patch 1.0.11. |
| Mini-island dots | Made larger in patch 1.1.2. |
| Old X marker | The death-location marker was removed in patch 1.0.10. |
This is a partial legend from official patch notes. It does not assign an unverified color to every island. Use the main-island route for story progression and the mini-island guide for side destinations.
What to try when the radar disappears
- On Island 2: inspect the ground beside the shop post and signs. Two players independently reported a purchasable replacement there in August. Check for the purchase prompt.
- Lost at sea: players suggest reloading to return to a nearby island. Treat this as a recovery attempt, not a radar replacement.
- Back on a small island without a seller: October reports describe this remaining unresolved after reload. Do not assume another reload or a death will fix it.
Does editing the save fix it?
The same discussion contains conflicting results from manual save edits. We have not validated those edits and cannot recommend them as a reliable fix. Preserve a backup before any manual experiment; report the affected build and situation through the game's support channels instead of overwriting your only save.
Before the next journey
As a practical precaution, check you still have the radar before leaving shore and after handling cargo. For a story gate, check the relevant quest rather than assuming every new dot is the next main island. Start with the beginner guide or the Giant Piranha Skeleton hand-in.
